Filmfare 2009:The Good,The Average and The Ugly - Dress Edition

The Good

Shriya Saran looked lovely in a blingy strapless number by BCBG. (Psst: this one is available on a 40% discount (now $222.60) here!)

From what I can see, Asin looks good in this purple dress and BV knotted clutch.

Asin. A Silver Bottega Veneta Knotted Clutch.
Sonam Kapoor dazzled once agan - this time in a Chanel outfit. Must say older gen in the industry can learn a few lessons in fashion from this young starlet. Psst - check out her hair accessories - looks gorgeous!
Sonam Kapoor. One shoulder dress from the Chanel Resort 2009 collection. Bottega Veneta knotted clutch.
Simran Kaur looked great in this Swapnil Shinde outfit - off the runway too!

Another one shoulder dress that looked good was Priyanka's. She wore it with a Leiber Rose clucth I think. Once confirmed I'll put the pic here for you to see. Hair tied at the back, subtle makeup and long earrings with a cute clutch - she did it all well for me.
Priyanka Chopra. Albertta Ferretti, Fall 2008 collection.
Shreya Ghoshal also looked lovely in a flowy Gauri and Nainika Gown.

Anushka also chose to wear a one-shoulder dress. This one looked nice with the shiny gold lining beneath. Minimal accessories and hair tied behind, she looked good too.

Anushka Sharma

Koena chose a corset top style, multi-tiered gown in white. Must say it fits her well and her hair is complimenting it too.
Koena Mitra
The Average

Prachi wore a ho hum dress by Raakesh Agarvwal. Though it is not bad, it somehow doesn't compliment her well. A brighter colour or shorter dress might've worked here. The hair also seem a bit too casual here.

Though I still haven't seen any full length picture of Tabu, this one seems like an average number. No compariosn to what she wore for the Star Screen Awards night!

Tabu
Sushmita is on a body-hiding spree now-a-days. Why else would one wear such a loose, unimpressive gown in black?! She looks dull to say the least!

Sushmita Sen
Genelia and Preity also went ahead with a black (and black and white) strapless corset top, fish-tailed dress. While Preity wore amazing emerald and diamond earrings, the outfit was a bit too bland and the fish cut a bit boring.
PS: I will replace these pics with better ones as soon as I find some.

Genelia D'Souza

Preity Zinta
Adhuna (wife of Farhan Akhtar) chose this violet colour dress. Once again an average number-especially with those flat shoes!
Adhuna Akhtar
Am not a bif fan of rossets and that could be a reason why I found this outfit on Adah very average. The flowers are way to overwhelming for me...

Adah Sharma. Nalanda Bhandari Spring 2009 collection

The Ugly
Riya Sen went ahead with this metallic number. Much as I loved the one on Shriya, this one is dissappointing. The colour is too blingy and the cut is non-impressive. The shoes nothing much to save here as well.
Riya Sen
And here comes the ugliest outfit from this event - ta -da-da...(drumrolls in the background)
The hair accessories are good, the jewellery is great, but the dress with a peeking inner wear? Not so good...And the shine in the outfit is blinding my eye!

Stardust Awards 2009: The Good The Bad and The Ugly

The Good
Sridevi looked nice and well younger in this flowy floral gown. Just enough accesories, the right clutch and red painted nails, add the colour and bling to her outfit.
Sridevi
Celina also chose a flowy solid colour gown. With hair tied up, all attention goes to the dress and the earrings. Though I think, a nice arm candy and a bracelet or something would've added a bit more style to this one.
Celina Jaitley
It's the colour doing the talking here for Monica.

Monica Bedi
Vidya Balan wore a white & beige suit which suited her frame well.

Vidya Balan
Priyanka wore a strapless flowy gown in two tone. Notice the detailing at the back. I think this piece would've looked better in person. The lighting in the photo is not doing justice to this colour.

Priyanka Chopra
This animal print dress on Kareena looks good. Only thing missing is a clutch or wristlet.
Kareena Kapoor
Koena and Twinkle wore bright solid colours and paired them with earrings and a clutch. While Koena went metallic, Twinkle wore animal print peep toe shoes which looked good on the red short dress.

Koena Mitra. Twinkle Khanna

Asin's all white gives a dreamy look was pulled off well.

Asin
The Bad
Neha paired a hugh neck top with sequinced black skirt. All black gone all wrong. Besides, the bow clutch is added nothing but misery to the outfit.

Neha Dhupia
Kangana seemed to be inspired by the trophy statuette! The all gold dress (and stark one at that) with animal print straps, does nothing but add a big bling to Ms.Ranaut.

Kangana Ranaut
The current NY Fashion week has showing a lot of 80's trends, but the one Kajol is wearing below wants me to forget all about it! The same suit in a better colour palatte would've worked wonders for her. And oh, the shoes are blah too...
Kajol
Genelia chose to wear a pale dress with no accessories whatsoever (I doubt we can count a mobile as an accessory!). She paired the mauve dress with blue shoes. So wrong for her age and figure.
Genelia D'Souza
And, The Ugly
The esrtwhile lovely lady, who rarel deviates from her kanjivarams and gold sets, chose to dress in a - lo and behold - Velvet saree!!! What was Rekha thinking???A black, all velvet saree!!
Rekha
